1 - We believe there is one true God manifested in
three distinct personalities (Trinity). The three Persons of the Godhead
are co-eternal and co-equal. Gen 1:26, Col 2:9, I John 5:7
God the Father
God the son
God the Holy Ghost
2 - We believe in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. Gen
1:1, John 1:1, Col 1:16-17
3 - We believe the Scriptures to be the inspired, inerrant, infallible
Word of God. We believe the Bible to be true from cover to cover. We
believe the Bible is plenarious (complete). We believe in the literal
interpretation of Scriptures. We believe that the Word of God is still
practical and relevant even in a contemporary world. II Tim 3:16, Is 40:8
4 - We believe that Jesus was and is the sinless Son of God born of a
virgin. Is 7:14, Mat 1:23
5 - We believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood to forever atone for the
sin of the world. His sacrifice is sufficient to remove the penalty of sin
and satisfy the righteousness required of God. We believe Jesus Christ is
the only means of salvation. Heb 9:22, Rom 3:25, John 14:6
6 - We believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.
7 - We believe in the literal, bodily ascension of Jesus Christ.
8 - We believe that Jesus Christ is our heavenly high priest and
continually makes intercession for believers at the throne of God. I John
2:1-2
9 - We believe believers are saved by grace through faith. No one is ever
"good enough" to merit eternal life. Human works are a result of
salvation, not a requirement of salvation. Man is unable to do anything
about his sinful fate. Thus, it takes a divine act of grace by a holy God.
Eph 2:8-9
10 - We believe in the eternal security of the believer. I John 5:13, Eph
4:30
11 - We believe in the justification of the believer at the moment of
salvation. (from the penalty of sin) Rom 3:24, 5:1,9
12 - We believe in the sanctification of the believer as a continual
process after salvation. (from the power of sin) Phil 1:6
13 - We believe in the future glorification of the believer. (from the
presence of sin) Rom 8:23, I John 3:2
14 - We believe in being faithful to the local New Testament church by our
attendance, prayer, and giving. Mal 3:8-10, Heb 10:25
15 - We believe the pastor is to be placed in the role of leadership. The
pastor is to be the under shepherd of the flock, reporting to the chief
Shepherd.
16 - We believe there are two ordinances of the local New Testament
church, which are baptism and communion.
17- We believe that the local New Testament church is to be involved in
evangelism and missions at home and abroad.
18 - We believe the rapture of the church, or "catching away," will be the
next event on God's prophetic calendar. At this event, believers will rise
to meet the Lord in the air. We believe the church will be raptured before
the 7 year period known as "the tribulation" on earth. (pre-trib) I Thes
4:13-18, I Cor 15:51-53
19 - We believe in a literal and actual place called heaven. Heaven is a
real place, not a myth or psychological state of mind. Not only is heaven
a destination, it is a motivation for Godly-living. John 14:2, Rev 21:2
20 - We believe believers will go to the Judgment Seat of Christ (Bema).
This is not a judgment of condemnation, but rather a judgment of works
done in the body after salvation. I Cor 3:11-15, Rom 14:10
21- We believe in the literal, bodily return of Jesus Christ with His
saints to this earth. Zech 14:4. Mat 24:29-31
22- We believe Jesus Christ will set up an earthly kingdom for 1,000 years
(pre-millennial). During this literal event, Satan will be bound in a
bottomless pit. This will be a time of utopia and perfect peace. Rev
20:1-6, Is 11:6-9
23 - We believe in the existence of a real, angelic being named Satan.
Lucifer is a fallen angel, banished from heaven, and sentenced to a lake
of fire. Is 14:12-15, Rev 20:10
24- We believe all non-believers will be judged at the Great White Throne
Judgment. This will be a judgment of condemnation and doom. Rev 20:11-15
25- We believe in a literal, actual, and burning hell. This will be a
place of eternal punishment for all non-believers, demons, and the
devil. Mk 9:44, Rev 14:11 |
